Hi, I’m Katrina.

My career has evolved, along with the philosophies and strategies that were popular during my time in the school districts.  Most recently, I have incorporated the use of interoception skills to help children and youth learn to understand where in their body they are feeling emotions. This is very powerful work I really enjoy doing.

I also have been working on providing training in executive functioning skills to help students focus and develop more confidence in themselves. I work privately as an executive functioning coach for online and in-person clients, and am confident in my ability to relay the knowledge and provide good practice in these areas.  I feel that the kind of compassion and emotional intelligence that I bring to my practice every day.

Trouble organizing, remembering instructions, staying on track, and following through with a task — these are signs of executive dysfunction. For so many students, they feel just paralyzed and helpless in a state of anxiety. For many students, it’s that anxiety that, once addressed, can help them move forward.

Reflect and Grow is not only the name of my business, but it’s also a statement of my methodology. We reflect together on the student’s goals, the steps to achieve them and take steps to help young people understand what they are going through.

Sometimes, other areas must be tackled - language practice, styles of study and even directed play can help. As every client is different, every session is adapted to address those needs.

Communicate

I really value communicating with the parents and caregivers - as well as teachers, where possible — in order to get as much information to help my clients.

connect

Establishing a rapport is just the start - once we start working together I provide updates, insights and if requested, homework and self-study options - as well as some really great new apps for students!
